About Us

The mission of the Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana is to provide support services that improve the quality of life for the Parkinson's community; to promote public awareness; to contribute to the local and national efforts to raise funds for support; and to accelerate the research for a cure.

We are a grassroots organization, founded by Louisville-area people with Parkinson’s disease (see our “History” page for more information). While we’ve grown and expanded our programs and services beyond support groups, our core values remain centered on ensuring that no one has to face Parkinson’s disease alone.

We are not affiliated with any national organization; we do, however, collaborate with all organizations—both local and national—that seek to serve people who are living with this disease.  Since 1999, the Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana (PSCKY) has raised over 2 million dollars to help educate the community, raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease, provide direct support services to people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones, and fund national and local research initiatives.

We are the only organization serving people with Parkinson’s disease in over 45 counties in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Please visit our “We Can Help” area to see the latest information on the programs and services we offer. Don’t see what you need? Want to talk to an experienced, caring person? Call us—anytime—at 502-426-0888. We have a wealth of information and resources to share. Our services are free, though we welcome and need your tax-deductible donations. No one has to face Parkinson’s disease alone. We’re here for you!

Community members gather at the 2009 Fest-a-Ville to learn about PD and color the Parkinson's tulip to show support for people with Parkinson's disease.
